I originally learnt about this volunteer form our school website. And I have been proud of joining it ever since then. iSEA is an organization founded to support southeast and east Asians in the UK and give help if possible. To be brutally honest, getting into this volunteer is not an easy work as we have to go through testing to collect cases of those who need help in the UK. Nonetheless, as I am accepted into the group, I am able to meet many new amazing people and give practical support to those who are struggling with mental health issue by talking to them. I am also able to put what I learnt in my communications course in handy and make posts about the association.
Working alongside these kind-hearted officers from all over the world has been a life-changing experience for me. UKFCP is a non-profitable organization aiming to aid all Asians who are in need for help in the UK. I am very lucky to stumble upon this volunteer work on my school's webpage. The organization has helped spread love and make every single member feel included by posting regularly on social media. I, who is responsible of this job, have gained a ton of experience with the help of the previous officer and am so grateful for the opportunity.
The whole idea was to collect second-handed clothes from famous bloggers and resell them to raise fund for stray dogs. It was my first time ever to have to negotiate with influencers to ask for something, not to mention it's their second-handed clothes. Luckily, many of them found what My friend and I was doing quite creative so they offered to donate the clothes. We had to, then, collect the clothes form them and book our slots at the local market. And trust me, they were heavier than anyone could imagined. We sat in the sun for a whole Sunday for a month in a role, and it was really something we had never experienced. Yet, all is worth it when we eventually made a profit of about 60,000 NTD (2,000 USD)in total and would definitely do it in the future.
