Advertising is a field that I have never thought would be so tiring and emotionally-draining. My experience at the internship is very surprisingly good as I met these amazing people and we all became friends. Working-wise, I have to admit that I spent most of the time reviewing Cannes winning list since that was the main job I was assigned to. Working at an advertising firm is exhausting, that's all I could say. But it is also a lot of fun when you can generate new ideas and discuss with your colleagues to form up new ones.
Official website of H.Spectrum
I consider my experience as an intern in H.Spectrum a life-changing one. I was very lucky to be able to work a few months in this startup incubator founded in Taipei during high school. I, along with some other incredible teammates, worked together to host forums that help accelerate start-ups in Asia. The company held conferences to convene passionate and ambitious groups in the BioTech and health field. They then grant opportunities and incubate them into legitimate companies that help humans' health and well-being in general. As accordance to the official site, they "work with Inventors to rapidly transform their concept into companies...provide an extensive funding network and a multidisciplinary leadership team with experience turning ideas into real solutions."

Me working on the agenda
My experience in H.Spectrum allowed my to have this second opportunity to work in a Biotech corporation called Regain that is based in Hong Kong for a month. I worked as an assistant once again in the administration department. My job here included collecting data and analyzing the profit and potential of said products. Mostly health supplements.
The experience is also quite precious and beneficial as I became much more patient after having to sit in front of a computer for a month, staring at numbers. I also got rid of my carelessness since the numbers are the key elements in the analysis and mistakes are not allowed. I was also able to see more on how a company make decisions and generate incomes.
Now I can proudly say that I am in a Netflix show
This happened when I was in London. As much as I was overwhelmed by the city, I noticed how I should step out of my comfort zone in order to learn lessons from life. That is when I signed a contract with an agency and take part as a extra in several pieces. I was in an advertisement, a short film and a Netflix show. This is one of the best experience I've had as I met so many good people along the way as well as see what a studio looks like. And trust me, it's worth a visit. I am so grateful for the opportunity and am looking forward to participate in more motion pictures.
I was chosen from my mandatory ESL (English as my Second Language) class by my professor to join the Language Help center as a paid tutor in my previous university. I was trained a semester on how to be a tutor before officially joining the center. The classes focused on education methods and how to pass on knowledge or edit the essays without offending the writers that asked for the help. Eventually, I passed the class and got the role after numerous Wednesday probation.
This very special experience also taught me something. As the only Asian working at the 9PM shift in the language center, I was always very insecure. English is my second language and I was never confident enough in using it in my daily lives, not to mention to help with essays written by people whose mother tongue is English. However, after times and times of reading articles written by different people, I grasp the hold of being a tutor and adding spice onto the essays that are essentially interesting in itself.
I, myself, learned a lot from the people that came to ask for help. For instance, I have learned that Julia is surprisingly interested in dictatorship around the globe and that the topic is beyond what I expected; Nick, on the other hand, confuses the use of a comma and semi-colon; Jee-so is an amazing writer who has not realize her own potential. Meeting these people and reading these articles has not only help with my writing overall, but also offered me new perspectives on people.
Mimmy is the host of every video, and we were asked to give her a surprise on her birthday.
This job I found through my school's creative adventure website is a treasure to me. For one, I love kids. I love to see when kids laugh. They are always so pure and adorable. Therefore, this job where I teach Japanese kids about my culture in a 10-minutes zoom call is the perfect job.
Mimmy Adventure is a company based in Japan that recruits people from all over the world to share a part of their culture to the children. I really admire the concept of showing kids what it is like around the world. I would often joke to my colleague about me attending a Mimmy Adventure if it exist during my childhood. The job is always so light-hearted as everyone is working with passion and compassion. My boss is a kind lady that is very considerate and give me a good amount of freedom on this freelancing.
The job offer me great view on the world as I also have the access to the videos made by other creators. They are from different part of the world. The activity spurs my creativity as I will have to think of different content every time. I am also trained to be more responsible as I would not want to fail any child's expectation. I stood in the rain for a class, actually two, but the moment I hear the children's laughter, it is all worth it.
I was offered this job all of a sudden. At first, I doubt the authenticity of the work since this is the first time I am asked to do commission. But then, I received a phone call and it changed everything. In the one hour long phone call, Tom explained to me that he was an engineer that got lucky and retired at a young age. He elaborated that that he is now a life coach aiming to help with people's goals in life. The way he can accomplish it is to make a very detailed vision board that portrait the characteristic of the client so that he or she can allow the reality to take place. For example, John needs to lose 10 kilogram for better health so what I can do is, put a skinner John on the drawing. John is more likely to be motivated after seeing himself thinner.
Moreover, since I read the book Secret, I am very interested in the Law of Attraction and Law of Assumption in general. I believe that human will is very very powerful and anything can happen. This opportunity seems like something I manifested and I really appreciate that my art is finally being seen by more and coming in use. Most importantly, helping people accomplishing their goals.
Now, I am also incorporating this method into my own routine, hoping to manifest all my dreams.
The logo of Sena International
The company is a Sri Lanka based service provider. My job here was to transcribe the audio file into written words. The task is much more difficult than I expect. For one, the Mandarin audio file I was offered is different from what I am used to, making the process harder. Secondly, we have to follow a guideline to transcribe in order to maintain the uniformity of the file. Nevertheless, I learned patience and that earning money is a hard work through this work because of the low pay.
Excel spread sheet that drove me crazy
An employer called Sam reached out to me on Upwork and gave me the job of collecting data for introduction agencies in China, Taiwan, XingChiang, Tibet Areas. The work is purely hard work as I would have to spend 5 hours staring at the screen yet still getting paid low. I understand the circumstances and how the work has to, eventually, be done by someone. The work lasted for quite a long time and I got better and better using the search engines.
An additional good habit brought by the work is that now I cherish what I have and am even more grateful than before. I consider more before I purchase an item for I have learned that making money is not something as easy as I thought it is.
